The first picture shows the top of a white storage cupboard in our upstairs hallway; two quilts - bottom one was a wedding gift from our maid of honor and best man, top quilt was made by my dear Gram, two green pots, and a fish bowl full of seashells.
Those are beautiful quilts, and I love the setting you have created. I am loving looking back over the posts and pictures.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening.
Blessings,
Karen
The quilts are beautiful and I just love how you have the hankies displayed! My Nana gave me 3 matching hankies and you've inspired me to frame them!!

That is a great way to save a momento! Seeing your picture of the hankies brings to mind tons of things I can do that with--baby booties, and embroidered bibs. And I like your kitchen corner too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your home would be a comfy place to hang out!
I love that you have framed the hankies from your Grandmother making them so special. Your quilts are beautiful too - what a pretty corner.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are beautiful and they look perfect on top of the cabinet! What a wonderful way to display your mother's hankies ... I love that the frame is on a stand and not hanging on the wall. ♥
ReplyDeleteI think this is the sweetest posting. I am a sentimentalist big time.....I think we need to preserve things passed down to us for our children and grandchildren and make the people real to them by telling incidents that they will remember. My children love to hear about older relatives......
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, hope you are doing well today and digging your way out of all that snow! I think we are due for some nice weather don't you? We are still trying to get rid of our snow here in Minnesota. Your quilts, pots, and wonderfuly displayed hankies are lovely. They really look nice in your very pretty home. Thank you Kim for visiting my tea party today. I really appreciate the comment. Visit with you soon.

Thank you very much for your sweet comments Karen, Kelli, Georgiana, Deb, Lynda, Betty, and Allison! I still have many quilts that belonged to my dear Gram...I just need to get them out. I remember spending many hours with her cutting out the quilt patches, talking, laughing and just enjoying our time together. I am very sentimental when it comes to the treasures that belonged to my family. I always tell my dd stories from when I was growing up because she never knew my dear Mom or dear Gram. She did get to know my dear Dad, for that I am so very thankful...
