While my dd and I were out shopping yesterday we went to one of my favorite stores...Marshalls. I've been on the lookout for black and white transferware for some time now so I was delighted when I came across these lovely plates. They are Royal Stafford and cost me only $3.99 each. I was drawn to them because of the farm scene.
Update: To learn more about transferware, you may go to the Transferware Collectors Club

I almost bought these myself! I thinked I've picked them up in Marshalls two to three times and thought about buying them... Your photos are making me think I should run out and get them!
ReplyDeleteKim, what is transferware? And what is its history? Thank you for the welcome. I am one of the new visitors.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of transferware. I do learn something new every day! The plates are really elegant. And wow...Royal Stafford for that price! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteKim, I just love your new plates! I love transferware too & esp. black, so may have to pop in my stores here & see if they have any in stock. They are usually a great place to find stuff. Those are beautiful.

Back to say 'thanks' for stopping by my blog! Come again soon, okay?
ReplyDeleteThank you sooooo much for inviting me to this entry to see your pretty finds! Oh, I LOVE the transfer ware! I am going to see if my local Marshall's has any. My kitchen has black tile floor- this would be a nice way to bring some of the black color *up*.
ReplyDeleteI just love these plates! I especially love all of the new color combinations! One of the transferware plates that I picked up recently was a combination of blue & black! I picked up to use in my office - as a pretty place to put my cup while I'm working :)
