This is how my laundry tub has looked for almost five years...I felt it was time for a change!
This is how the laundry tub looks without being covered...not very pretty and I'm all about making something look pretty.
And this is how it looks after...I purchased new curtains from the Better Homes and Gardens collection at Wal-mart and used a tier to cover my laundry tub.
I bought these rods (I only needed one) ...
attached it with removable velcro.
These are my new valances (sorry the picture is so dark).

Here are a few more pictures of the laundry room.
I want my washer to look pretty when it's not in use.
Hmmm...just realized the scarf is wrinkled...sorry about that!
This is a picture of my great grandma doing laundry...she's on the right.
It really makes me appreciate my washer and dryer.
Thank you so much for stopping by blogging friends...I always enjoy your company!
♥ Kim
p.s. Thank you all for your wonderful and sweet comments that you left on my previous post about my screen door update!
Very cute laundry room! Makes it much easier to do the laundry I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteLove your laundry room makeover! Especially the picture of your grandmother doing laundry.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your laundry room!!! It looks fantastic! :) I also love that old picture!
ReplyDeleteYour laundry room is so bright and I love the photo of your Grandma! We sure have it easier now! Love the new curtain too :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the floral/stripe combo. If I tried to keep something pretty on top of my washer, I'd always be aggravated having to move it to start the laundry, though! Plus we share our laundry room with the single guy who lives in our basement suite, so I don't think he'd appreciate it either! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your laundry room! So bright and cheery that I wouldn't mind doing laundry every day OR ironing!

Wow! What a charming little spot! Love that skirt! How precious that you have a photo of your Grandmother doing wash. = )
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful job you've done...and I must say..what a BEAUTIFUL laundry room. Mine...well..it's in the basement..so I'll stop there! lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful laundry room you have! So spic-and-span! ♥
ReplyDeleteLaundry has come a long way hasn't it? I remember my grandmother doing laundry in a wringer washer. Seemed as though it took her all day. Nice room you have. Thanks for sharing. Alice
ReplyDeleteSuper cute Kim! I love the photo of your grandmother doing the laundry.....can I have a copy of it to hang out by my washer to remind me of how blessed I am?! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,
M.
That laundry room is a dream. I just love all the charm and the family photo of your grandmother on laundry day. What a unique photo to have and enjoy. The utility sink is great and I sure would love to have one!
ReplyDelete(I'm visiting from Main Street Memories. Colleen has a great blogroll!)
Love it Kim!
ReplyDeleteI purchased the same curtains for my hearth room. I used the valances on three windows, the tiers on two long windows and then worked a little magic with safety pins on the other two tiers for the window above my sink. Your updated rooms look very nice.
ReplyDeleteI love your laundry room it looks wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

ReplyDeleteI am moving in September and have no idea how I am going to tackle the laundry space as it is no longer a separate room like I have in this house. It is in the garage area. Still I want it to be a pleasant area to go work in.
Hugs from Holland ~

That is a GREAT picture that you have. Wow, I would love to have something like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for keeping the washer pretty. I like it.
Your laundry room is so pretty. Mine is in the basement, surrounded by four cement walls. That is so neat that you have a picture of your greatgrandmother doing her laundry. My, how things have changed and for the better!

What a wonderful makeover for such a necessary room! I love it!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love what you've done with your laundry room! What a great idea. I desperately need to do something for mine as it's also the side entry to the house and the only one that anyone uses. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteYou've given me a great idea! Thanks for dropping by.
Your laundry room is gorgeous! I love all that you've done, but I have to say that my favorite touch is the photo of one of your grandmas doing their laundry...that makes it SO SPECIAL!

What a beautiful laundry room! And I love the old sepia print of your Granma doing laundry! How sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is tiny and doesn't even have a window or a laundry tub. When you open the door, the water heater is right there. UGH! Not a pretty sight, so I keep the door closed all the time.
Have a blessed week!
The laundry room looks great! I love the new curtain/skirt you used. That picture of your grandmother is perfect for that room!

ReplyDeleteSoooo cute! My laundry room is in a scary corner of the downstairs. Cement floor and 70's gold & green daisy wallpaper. It's the only room I haven't started on since we moved in. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!
