Hello sweet blogging friends...I've finally returned from a much needed break! I hope you all are well and enjoyed the holidays. We had our Christmas dinner on the 27th of December...my dh's side of the family has grown and since his nieces are now married and have families of their own, we decided to host a meal at our home on a day other than the 25th. There were 18 people all together. I remember the days when I fretted over cooking a meal for a few people...my how times have changed!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I wanted to give a fresh, new look to the kitchen, so I had dh take the leaf out of our table...I love a round table! I found this great table cloth at TJ Maxx yesterday...I love the fact that it has both red and burgandy in it.

Thank you so much for stopping by...I appreciate the New Year wishes you left for me and my family...that was so sweet. I'm so sorry that I haven't been around to see all of you. My time on the computer has been so limited and it will be again, too, as me and my family are going to FLORIDA from January 15th through the 19th! We are so excited....we're going to Walt Disney World...please say a prayer for us...we've never flown before and I have a few butterflies.
Love, Kim
Oooh, I love the red/burgundy! It is a cool combination. I think you will like flying... it feels glamorous to me! Have fun in DW and be sure to blog about it when you get home!
ReplyDeleteI love your new tablecloth and I know it was a fun time! How exciting to be going on a trip to Walt Disney World. I don't really like to fly but with sounds or bumps I just watch the other passengers as most have flown much more than I have....and I know that all is well.
ReplyDeleteI love all the red items you've shared...it's one of my favorite colors. I hope you and your family have tons of fun at Disney! Flying isn't all that bad. Just bring a good book along and you'll be there in no time, at all!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice break! Disney is fabulous, you will love it. And I would just love to have the Paula pot! She is my favorite. Check out my kitchen post, I have my favorite Paula cookbooks in a "red" wooden toolbox. Thought you would appreciate it!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with your flying to Florida. It will be worth it when you get to Walt Disney World. I have been to Disneyland in CA. a couple of times and it is a blast! Enjoy! Debbi

ReplyDeleteTeresa
I am a red fan also. Love the table cloth.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your vacation!
Kim - the tablecloth is great and that Paula Dean coffee pot is a great find!! I hope you have a wonderful trip! I'm a nervous flier too - I highly recommend a glass of wine before the flight - ha,ha!
ReplyDeleteI love red! Everything in the kitchen looks great..
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great trip - I love Disney!!
I love your red theme! The tablecloth is so cute and country. Going with a round table for a while is something I can understand. I have a table to goes from square to rectangle. I would love to keep it square as it is so big otherwise but have my quilt group here once a month and Jos would have to keep putting the heavy oak leaf back in. Now that coffee pot! How adorable is that!!! It looks like something from the pioneer days doesn't it? Can you actually use it on the stove? It must make your coffee taste better...LOL!

Dear Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the coffee pot and tablecloth. you are ready for Valentine's day and I still have my Christmas stuff displayed..LOL.
Red is definitely my favorite color.. The trim in my dining room, breakfast room and kitchen and hallway is painted a dark red...with mustard walls.
I have passed an award onto you.. it's the Proximidade award . it also has a text below the photo to copy and paste to be added to your blog along with the photo.
May you have a wonderful winter day.. we have a white out here at the moment. pretty but I have no use for it.. LOL..
Hugs,
Linda
Beautiful and it goes very well with all the black paint too! :) I have painted many old things in our house red but will be painting some things, like picture frames black soon as the weather warms up. And I'm a blue girl.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at WDW.

I really like the new background! And, I am a BIG fan of red - I think every room needs just a "splash" of red!
ReplyDeleteHappy post-holidays to you! Glad your dinner turned out well. We had our out-of-town kids over taht week-end as well - so they can start their own traditions and rituals- they loved it and so did we.
Blessings!
I'm so glad I re-discovered your blog! I found it several months ago before I had my own blog, but I lost it somehow!
ReplyDeleteI love Paula's stuff and your table cloth is a great color. Disney sounds like fun. We hope to go someday.
I'm adding you to my blog roll if you don't mind.
Blessings,
Mandy
Hi Kim, LOOOVE your red accents! Love them. My house is a rusty red, as are several walls, our kitchen counter top and quite a few accents here and there. The other walls are a very mellow maple sugar color... yummy! There are also touches of earthy green. Oh, and black... you get the idea!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Kimbely
PS, love your name ;)
Kim...just love the red tablecloth and coffeepot. When you find that teapot let me know I'm looking for one also. Have fun in Florida.
