After two days of rain (thought we were going to have to build an ark), this is what we awoke to! Isn't it pretty...I know, you're all probably getting tired of my snow pictures...I'm sorry, I can't help myself...I LOVE freshly fallen snow!

~*A Wee Bit O' Decorating*~

Good afternoon to you from foggy, rainy Southwestern PA! I thought I'd share some of my decorating...for some reason it is taking me longer than usual and I don't think I've done anything different than before. I thought I'd start in my Laundry/Powder Room area.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This is a little window display. My Uncle Bud made me the farmhouse and barn so it's really special to me. I have a pipberry willow tree in here now, but I'd like to find a nice pine tree for the display in winter. In the spring/summer/fall I add green felt for the grass.
This is my Gram's sewing machine. I have so many wonderful memories of her sewing on this machine...oh how she made it HUM! The one apothocary jar holds some of her buttons.
This is the top of my washer. I change out the stuff in the basket seasonally.
The dear lady I work for gave me this Christmas towel.
Isn't it pretty? I really hate to use it!
This is the top of my dryer. The iron was given to me by my Gram. I can't imagine having to iron with something that heavy! The wrought iron Christmas tree was a thrift store find for a $1.00. I had to add the little glass candle holders and candles which I found at Walmart.
Now we're in the Powder Room...a basket of berries.
There are two windows in the PR and I added the berry swag to each of them and hung the star on the curtain rod.
A candle with candle ring on the sink.
Two gingerbreadmen pictures in my small cupboard.

A small jar with soaps sitting on a candle ring.
A snowman made by a friend...isn't he sweet?
Thank you so much for stopping by. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your comments and visits. I try to reply back by e-mail or with a comment on your blogs, but sometimes I'm not able to and I hope you'll forgive me if you don't hear back from me.

A Request:
I've created a special blog to list all of my blogging friends...if you'd like to be added to my list, please let me know...okay? I appreciate it! I was just going to do those who link to me from their blogs, but I know some of you don't have that on your blog and I wanted to include everyone!

~*A Pringles Can Gift Container*~

First of all, thank you, sweet friends, for your kind comments on my last post - An Inexpensive Gift. My hairdresser was very happy with my token of appreciation! If you want to see my new "do" then take a peak at my other blog for a look. I feel like a new person!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Anywho...my dd and I are going to an Avon Christmas party this afternoon. Our Avon lady, who is also a dear friend, gives this party in appreciation for all her customers. I wanted to put a little gift together for Nancy and this is what I came up with. I had this empty Pringles can and as you can see it says, "special size to customize." That gave me an idea to decorate it so I could give Nancy some of my chocolate covered pretzels. The can is the perfect shape!
I cut a piece of gift wrap to fit the can.
I wrapped it around the can and secured it with tape.
I decided to cover the lid of the can with some muslin. I used a small plate as a template.
I cut it out with pinking scissors.
I wanted her gift to have a nice tag so I found a tag that I already had and cut the edges with decorative scissors.
I added my own decorative touches.
This is the finished product...it was so easy.
I used a different melting chocolate this time and it worked out so much better. It was called Bakers Heat and Dip Dipping Choclate...it was very easy and was alot smoother and easier to work with than the brand I used yesterday.

Unfortunately, I still do not have any decorating done inside. I got invovled in a crafting project so decorating was put on the back burner...I can't wait to show you what I've been up to! Thanks again for your visits and your kind words...I appreciate you all so much.

~*An Inexpensive Gift*~

My dd and I have an appointment with the hairdresser today and I thought I would make her little gift to show my appreciation for all she has done for us throughout the year.
I used this microwave chocolate (which I am NOT recommending - I'd rather do it the old fashioned way: melting chocolate with a double boiler) to dip cashew nougets, pretzel rods and Oreo cookies.
I then sprinkled them with these various goodies!
Here's what everything looked like assembled in the container.
I wrapped it with plastic wrap...tied some ribbon to it and added a tag.
I hope she enjoys it! Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on my last post...I am sorry to say that I have not done any more decorating on the inside...hopefully tomorrow...we'll see! DH did put wreaths on the barn so I'll be sure and show you pictures of it. Take care my dear blogging friends...until next time.

~*It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas*~

well...sort of...dh and I did manage to get the outside of our home decorated over Thanksgiving. We keep it very simple...lighted garland on the rails, a sled with lights and two pine trees with lights in buckets.

I finally got all of the Thanksgiving/Fall decor put away. I managed to get out a few Christmasy things...my wreath, which is hung on our back door,...
my snowman cookie jar, and my new Gooseberry Patch cookbook. I actually bought two, but only have one on display. I found them at Tractor Supply...they were only $13.56!!! This was a good price because locally they range from $16.99 up to $18.99. So, if you like Gooseberry Patch, why not check out your local Tractor Supply store? They don't have a big selection, but you just may find one you don't have at a good price! I'm hoping to get more of my decorations out this week...stay tuned!
