I have always been fond of crisps especially during the fall months...there's nothing better than filling your home with the wonderful smell of something baking in the oven!
~♥ Apple-Pecan Crisp ♥~
from Betty Crocker Fall Baking Oct/Nov 2009
2/3 cup maple-flavored syrup (I used the real maple syrup)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
8 large baking apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
1 pouch (1 lb. 1.5 oz.) Betty Crocker oatmeal cookie mix
3/4 cup chopped pecans
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- In large bowl, stir together syrup, flour and cinnamon until blended. Add apples; toss until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 13 x 9 inch (3 quart) baking dish.
- In same bowl, with pastry blender, cut butter into cookie mix until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans. Crumble mixture over apples in baking dish.
- Bake 30 minutes. Very loosly cover with foil; bake 10 minutes to 15 minutes longer or until apples are tender.
As they say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." What a wonderful way to get your apples!
ENJOY!!!

Gota love Betty Crocker! I make it with out the pecans as Papa and I arent fond of them and it is still delish our favorite is Blueberry crisp though so I make that more then the apple just sudstatute the apples for blue berries fresh or frozen , with a dolop of ice cream on it. Nothing better then the smell of home make baking or cooking and a fire place wafting through the house on a chilly fall day ! Have a wonderful day !
