Thank you all for your kind comments regarding my recent yard sale/thrifting finds. I really appreciate them!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Julie and Manuela wanted to know where I find my treasures, well, I mostly find them at thrift stores. We have a great Salvation Army in my area that has very reasonable prices. I also have been fortunate to go to some yard sales this year that had some great items.

Becky wanted to know if the picture of the cabinet is the one I talked about previously. Yes, it is. I was so happy when I found it because it's exactly the size I needed. I still haven't gotten it painted yet because I was busy with another painting project.

Abbie, if I ever decided to get rid of the cabinet, you'll be the first to know! I can't wait to see what you're going to post about on your blog. I love seeing what others find!

My dear friend June and I went to several yard sales last Saturday. I came away with a small table (that's what I was busy painting), a mirror, two small glass lided jars, and wooden thread spools. I'm hoping to post some pictures within the next several days.

My dh also managed to get my chalkboard finished...now it has to be hung in the kitchen...can't wait to show you the results!

Much love to you all, Kim

I'd like to share some of my recent finds with you...I was fortunate enough to find this great 1936 My Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook for a $1! It still had a few handwritten recipe cards inside. I knew I had to bring it home with me.

The cabinet will be going into our 2nd floor bathroom. I'm going to paint it white. I found it for $4.00. I just love this glass jar...I'm going to fill it pine cones or who knows what else!
I haven't decided where I'm going to put the two candle holders, but I do know I'm going to paint them black...they were .99 cents for the set. The old grater will be turned upside down to hold flowers, etc. in my kitchen. Not sure what I'll do with the little glass jar, but it was .49 cents so I couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to sit down and look at the Laura Ashley Style book. I'm not sure what I'll do with the wallpaper...maybe I'll use it to wrap a gift or line a cupboard...maybe there's enough to do both!

I got this shadow box for .25 cents, but I'm going to paint it and use it for another project that has been on my mind. This milk glass dish will be used in the 2nd floor bathroom, also. It has taken me sooooooo long to even decide how I want to decorate this bathroom. It will soon be a year since it was remodeled.

Thanks for taking a look at my finds...have a great weekend. I have plans to go to a few sales this weekend...can't wait to see what treasures are out there!

Thanks again for always taking the time to stop by and for your nice comments...I do appreciate them.

Much love to you all, Kim

Welcome to an up close and personal look at some of the things that are in my kitchen:

I bought this scale at a yard sale...I've wanted one for so long and I just couldn't pass it up; a courting candle from my dear friend Josie; this miniature cookstove was given to me by my dear Gram.

A basket of flowers (flowers from Home and Garden Party); goose bought at Fort Ligonier Days several years ago with one of my dear Gram's pie pans behind it; bean pots and pitcher that also belonged to my dear Gram; a crock that also belonged to my dear Gram.

I got these two needle point pictures at a yard sale in the spring. The frames were different colors so I decided to give them a black crackle finish.

I bought these three little sheep that say "Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often" and the little tree last fall at Christmas In The Woods in Ohio; my star lamp; miniature oil lamp.

This large coffee pot was found in the attic of the home where I grew up. I have no idea who it belonged to. It has a hole near the bottom so I'm sure that is why it was put up in the attic. I'm so glad it wasn't thrown away; the off-white enamelware cup sat on the sink in my parent's kitchen.

I picked up this cut glass pitcher for $2.00 at a thrift store. I decided to use it for my cooking utensils. This small yellow enamelware creamer belonged to my dear Gram.

I hope you've enjoyed this up close and personal look at some of things that are near and dear to my heart. Thanks once again for taking the time to stop by...I appreciate it so much.

Much love to you all, Kim

I just want to say a special thank you to those of you who stopped by for my kitchen tour...thank you Julie from Nunnie's Attic, Anne F, Oak Wind Farm, Susan from Penless Thoughts, Heidi, My Heart Is Always Home, Cheryl (Copper's Wife), Marilyn, Becky, Manuela from The Feathered Nest, Terri and Bob, Bittersweetpunkin, and Little Pen Pen for your sweet comments.

Heidi wanted to know if had the complete collection of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. No Heidi, I do not, even though it may look like I do. I'm sure trying though!

~* Kitchen Tour *~

Thanks for stopping by, won't you please come in?

If you look straight ahead you can see the kitchen...one of the first things you'll notice is my large pantry. It's great for storage since I don't have a lot of counter space even though I have a nice sized kitchen.

I just love my black appliances...I'm adding more and more black touches to the kitchen. I love this little piece of furniture...can you guess what's inside? It's where I hide my garbage can. This was made by the Amish. My hutch is also Amish made. I store cookbooks in this hutch.

See my new sign...I found it this weekend. This is the table where some of my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks are stored. This table belonged to my dear parents.

Where the meals are prepared each night. The double oven is a great feature.

This is my favorite wall in the kitchen. The wreath was one of the first things I purchased for the farmhouse when we moved in. The plates are from Marshall's. The little table holds the rest of my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks.

And last, but not least, the table my dear husband and I purchased 17 years ago when we were first married.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my kitchen...thanks again for stopping by!

Hello friends, I'm sorry for the lack of posting and for not answering several questions that were asked regarding my last post. This has been a very busy week. I've been working on getting things cleaned and organized at our home. I've taken four bags of clothing that we no longer needed to a local charity. It feels good to let go of some clothing I've been holding on to way too long!

Wow, I am over-whelmed by the number of you sweet readers who have been leaving me comments....I'm even thankful for those of you who have stopped by and haven't ever said Hi...don't be shy, let me know you've been by! When I started this blog I honestly didn't think there would be anyone, besides a few of my friends, who would be interested in seeing what I'm doing around here...Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Questions Answered:

Abbie wanted to know how I accomplished my mantel. First off, I looked through tons of magazines to find pictures of mantels so I would have an idea what I might like. Honestly, all of the credit really goes to our friend, Fran. I showed him pictures and told him what I wanted and that is what he came up with. He did all of the measuring, figuring, building, etc. He is one talented man!

Carolyn wanted to know if any of the logs in our home were visible. Unfortunately they are not. They only time I actually got to view them was when the windows were being replaced. I often wonder who built this home...I hope they know how much I love it here!

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures to post today. I'm planning on either doing a kitchen tour or showing you more outside pictures....hmmm, I guess you'll have to check back and see what I've chosen!

Have a great day!
